The inspiration for this project was not made up be myself. A fellow classmate wanted to make a new project dedicated to Audrey Hepburn a.k.a. her favorite actress. We used a old large canvas board that the art room had available. We painted it over with white acrilic paint. A white poster board was placed to block out the splatter paint we planned to use. Paint splattering took several days. Afterwards, we brought it to the English room where we used the projector to trace the outline the picture of Audrey we wanted. As soon as we finished that, we brought it back to the art room to fill it in with black acrilic. As soon as that was done, we redid the white areas of the painting with white acrilic until you could no longer see what the former painting was. Below is a picture of the finished painting.

For the past few months, I have been working with Alexis and Tiffany on recreating Cinderella's castle entirely out of glass. Alexis was inspired to make this because she is a huge Disney fanatic and would love to work on something Disney related. We used a big piece of tile board to glue the pieces on using grout. Cutting the pieces was one of the most difficult parts because it got arduous and tedious. The project took a few months but was finally finished a little while ago. I learned that working with glass has to be done with caution because injury is possible. Also, grout is messy so be prepared to get your hands dirty.
Here is a picture of it: I have finished my first project. This was the one with the gray background and green polka dots all over it. I have also finished my project with Alexis but we took those home. I will move on to something else soon. I have not decided yet what it is.
Last week was the first week of art. I began to make a gray painting using acrilic paint and a canvas. I used 5 different colors: Platinum- #E5E4E2, Light Green- #C7E9B1, Light Gray-# EBEBEB, Guacamole-#A6D785, and Trolley Gray-#808080. For the actual painting, the trolley gray faded into the light gray. My artistic skills are not in any qualified and it didn't quite turn out as I wanted it to. All week long, I was trying to make the ombré not look horrible.
Yesterday, my friend Alexis and I began a project. We had two matching yet opposite canvas boards with the word "memory" on hers and "memorias" on mine. Now that I think about it, "recuerdos" probably would have been a better word. We used spray paint to glam them up. Today, we decided to make our own mat boards for them and write messages to each other on them. We will work on those tomorrow. |
